La Red Iberoamericana de Ciencia, Tecnología y Género (RICTYG) ha organizado el evento “Ciencia, Mujer y Tecnología”, y en conjunto con el Departamento de Física de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia invitan a la siguiente conferencia:
- Nombre: “El estudio de MIT sobre las mujeres en la academia en Ciencia y Tecnología”
- Resumen: La preocupación por el lugar de las mujeres en las áreas de Ingeniería, Ciencia y Tecnología se ha reanimado con los datos y debate producidos por un grupo de mujeres profesoras de MIT a partir de los años 90. El estudio de MIT mostró que si bien las científicas jóvenes no detectaban ningún tipo de discriminación o diferencia de trato en la cotidianidad o en la evaluación de su desempeño, al cumplir 40 o 45 años estaban frustradas con los resultados de sus carreras y lo atribuían en parte a ser mujeres. En esta charla la idea es conocer un poco más sobre las preguntas y respuestas de este grupo de líderes para empezar a pensar cuáles serían maneras ideales de trabajar el tema en un contexto tan diferente como el colombiano.
